Waterstones are the fastest and most effective method of sharpening fine edge tools. However, due to their softness, they do require occasional flattening.
Here is a low cost, easy-to-use method for flattening all grits of waterstones. This silicone carbide stone has a hard, long wearing bond and is engineered for superb flatness. Just rub the wet waterstone on the grooved surface until it is perfectly flat.
These handy stones are good for general tool sharpening. India Stones are a man-made stone with coarse abrasive on one side and fine on the other.
