Description
Makes a smooth, flat bottomed hole like a forstner bit, but with a really important difference. These bits are machine sharpenable!
These are the bits recommended by teacher Jennie Alexander, author of Make a Chair From a Tree. Here are some of Jennie’s comments about the Universal Bit: “It has two nickers and two lips. Both the nickers and the unthreaded lead point are small and require no modification. The bit is far more accurately made than the [old Stanley] Powerbore and will hold up well. The metal is harder. The bits’ configuration makes it twice as aggressive as the Powerbore.” 3/8″ shaft diameter.
Made in Austria from top quality, high carbon steel.
